Diane Keaten accepts Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award on Woody Allen's behalf at Golden Globes

"The Golden Globes honored Woody Allen on Sunday — minus Woody Allen. He won a lifetime achievement award for more than four decades of writing, producing and directing films. He didn’t attend Globes on Sunday, however, and actress Diane Keaton accepted it on his behalf. Keaton played the starring role in ‘‘Annie Hall,’’ one of Allen’s best known movies.

Keaton noted that women loved to be cast in Allen’s movies, because ‘‘Woody’s women can’t be compartmentalized.’’

Rather than live on in the hearts of his fellow man, Keaton said Allen once said that ‘‘I would rather live in my apartment.’’

‘‘Woody’s films have been changing the way we think about life, love and the pursuit of neuroses forever,’’ she said."...images, top, Woody Allen in 1977 film Annie Hall crashes his car in a California parking lot, via dearoldhollywood.blogspot.com. Update: I didn't see this live. After posting the above I read Ms. Keaton gave a rambling speech and even sang a Girl Scout song. This is unfortunate but apparently it's who she is.
