"Trump began his speech by talking about breaking a record at the Budweiser Events Center-the seats were capped at 7,000, with some people in an overflow area outside. He called up to the stage the first person to get in line to enter the event Monday — at 4:30 a.m. and gave him a hug....

Trump told attendees at the event that he understood many of them were working harder than ever and making less money. He pledged to keep more jobs in the country and increase energy operations.

"We're going to end Hillary Clinton's war against Colorado energy and we are going to put our miners back to work," he said.

And as has become a common theme at Trump rallies, the candidate promised to build a wall on the Mexican border — to big applause.

"We are going to build a wall and we are going to stop the drugs and gangs...from pouring into Colorado and into our country," he said.
For veteran Tom Fiers, from Broomfield, Trump is the right candidate for the job....

"Twenty-two vets a day are dying and he wants to stop that. He wants to get them off the street. They come back beat-up, you know, you've got to fix that. He wants to give them private health insurance, if they can't get to a VA hospital. Sometimes those VA hospitals are 100 miles away. And he wants to get them into a local hospital," Fiers said.

His wife, Mary Fiers, said she appreciates that support that Trump is pledging.

"I've never felt this abandoned by our government before. And I really feel like that it's refreshing to hear someone say 'Let's make America great again.'""
