Texas Gov. Rick Perry is all hat and no cattle, "demands" fed. government secure the border. Or what? Or nothing. Rick Perry has no more interest in securing the border than Obama does-Karl Denninger

.
Karl Denninger became famous for sending tea bags to congress and the president. By Oct. 2010 Denninger said the Tea Party had been co-opted by the Republican Party and had lost its original focus which was rampant government corruption and theft.

7/12/14, ""I Demand"..... and?," Karl Denninger, Market-Ticker.org

"This is so cute....

Rick Perry 6/23/14 Press conf.
""Gov Rick Perry has long been an advocate for border security. And since 2012, Gov. Perry has been warning President Barack Obama that a crisis is happening on the border between Texas and Mexico.

Today, President Barack Obama met with Gov. Perry to hear his concerns.

If you are like Gov. Rick Perry, and you agree that the federal government must take responsibility and secure our border, sign this petition.

Sign the Petition:

Yes, I join Gov. Rick Perry in demanding the federal government take all necessary steps to secure our southern border."

Or...... what?

See, that's the problem -- a "demand" only means something if there is an "or else" after it.

If you walk up to me and say "I demand you give me one million dollars!" my reply is likely to be this:
smiley
If you persist in your toothless "demand" you will eventually annoy me enough that I'll change my reply to this: smiley

The only way you will get my attention is if you have an "or else" associated with your demand, and that "or else" is credible. Then I might listen, depending on how credible I judge the "or else" to be.

The problem with crafting an "or else" is that if it describes an unlawful act then The Feral Government will construe that as a threat (because it is.) Coming from an individual that will probably get you charged with a crime. It's not at all clear what The Feral Government would try to do if such an "or else" came from a State, however, particularly if it was backed up by the people and machinery of said state.

People will of course point to the Civil War but that was a rather unique situation and it's not at all clear that the Feral Government has the stones to do something like that again. It's one thing to roll troops over agricultural lands and burn cities; it's quite another to attempt such an action against the very energy processing resources that the government needs to operate in the first place, never mind that I have no clue how the members of the military stationed in and around the state would react to an order to seize those facilities while shooting their family and friends.

This much I'm very sure of: Such an attempt would get very messy very quickly with the economic damage being both instantaneous and catastrophic.

President Obama, like the Presidents before him and the Congresses before today's, have absolutely no intention of securing our border. They've made that abundantly clear. Indeed, it appears that Mexico's President may have forged a deal to encourage people from nations south of his to ride on top of trains -- a report that is entirely believable given that it stretches the boundary of reason to believe that people are riding on top of trains the entire height of his nation and not one Mexican police officer has seen them and thus has probable cause for an arrest and detention.

This is an invasion orchestrated not only by Mexico but by our government itself in direct contravention of the law. They get away with it because The Rule of Law no longer means anything for anyone in the Government. Speaker Boehner could cut this crap off instantly by refusing to bring any appropriations bill to the floor until the law is enforced; he need sue nobody as The House holds the power of the purse, and without funds Obama can't pay the electric bill for the White House.

So before you pat yourself on the back Governor, check your premise. You're bloviating and you know it. Yes, I know, this is a nice "red meat" issue for you, but the fact of the matter is that The Republican Party is just as guilty when it comes to allowing illegal invasions of our nation to advance and in fact wants it because their business and agriculture buddies want off-balance-sheet "employees" they can abuse.

Legal immigrants don't interest these people because if you're a legal immigrant then you can raise hell when you're abused without risking being deported. This means you must be paid lawfully -- complete with your share of taxation going to the various governments.

The demand for amnesty is a repeat of what happened when Ronald Reagan granted that request on the condition of locking down the border. The lockdown never happened and the illegals that were given amnesty were simply replaced in the workforce by new illegal invaders that could be abused.

This will not stop until the states and people of this nation demand it stop and back that demand with a promise they are willing to stand behind and enforce. As for lawful acts that are open to the States to enforce such a position, and whether he and the people of Texas are willing to cross that line, I will leave that to Rick Perry to figure out.

Let me know when you're willing to add an "or else" to your demand, and what that "or else" is. I'll decide whether to support you when I know exactly what I'll be supporting.

A demand without an "or else" attached is nothing more than political masturbation."

La Raza Rick Perry never does anything but yap. If he were to ever take real action to defend his state from the invasion I would be impressed. Until then he is all hat and no cattle.
