Instead of the word 'ObamaCare' the AP uses terms like 'Medicaid,' 'expanded Medicaid,' 'getting fed. tax dollars to help the needy,' 'federal health care overhaul,' and 'federal health care law'

.
An AP headline and article use new ways of referencing Ohio's participation in ObamaCare, such as, "Medicaid," "expanded Medicaid," "expanding Medicaid to additional low income residents." Feb. 2013 headlines proclaimed Ohio's John Kasich "ObamaCare's biggest Red State catch." Elsewhere, "Kasich has declared Jesus wants him to expand medicaid under Obamacare." AP suggests none of this, says, Kasich opposed "the federal health care overhaul," allowing readers to think he didn't sign up for it.

7/2/13, "AP: Ohio Tea Party to Use IRS to Fight Medicaid," AP, by Julie Carr Smyth, Columbus

"Tea party activists in Ohio want to turn an enemy — the Internal Revenue Service — into an ally as they fight continued efforts to expand Medicaid."

-------------------------------------

Paragraph 4: AP cites,"backers of expanded Medicaid"

AP doesn't say if backing "expanded Medicaid" means you're exempt from 2200 pages of ObamaCare, or if you only need to do 1000 pages, or 10 pages.

-------------------------------------
.
Paragraph 6: AP describes Kasich  "expanding Medicaid to additional low income residents:"

"The effort follows a Sunday veto by Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich of a provision in the state budget that would have blocked his administration from expanding Medicaid to additional low-income residents."
.
-----------------------------

Paragraph 7:  "to settle differences on a broader Medicaid expansion by year's end."

-------------------------------------------

Third paragraph from the end, readers are told about something that "expands Medicaid," and this something is "a key component" of Obama's "federal health care law:"

AP: "Roughly 366,000 Ohioans would eligible for coverage beginning in 2014 if the state expands Medicaid, a key component of
Democratic President Barack Obama's federal health care law."...
--------------------------------

AP doesn't mention that John Kasich signed Ohio up for ObamaCare in Feb. 2013 to big headlines.

--------------------------------------------

Second to last paragraph: They say Kasich is pushing to "take advantage of the law."

AP: "Kasich's push to take advantage of the law..."

Does that mean the whole "law" or just "expanded Medicaid"?
Would that be only 2 pages out of the 2200?:

-----------------------------------------

The last paragraph makes a point of doing 3 things. It invites you to believe that "expanding Medicaid" is something different from "the federal health care overhaul." AP says Kasich opposed "the federal health care overhaul" (instead of saying he had signed up for the "overhaul" and was hoped to be bait for others) "but" is in favor of "expanding Medicaid." Readers are invited to separate what Kasich wants to do from the 2200 pages. Third, Kasich is presented as merely being a conduit for federal taxpayer dollars "to help the needy." Therefore anyone who doesn't want to "expand Medicaid" or "take advantage of the law" simply doesn't want to help the needy. "The needy" doesn't mean what it used to. Most Americans are "needy" today and will stay that way:

AP, last paragraph: "Kasich opposed the federal health care overhaul, but has said expanding Medicaid is the best way to make sure Ohio gets back federal tax dollars to help the needy."

.
Kasich big headlines in Feb. 2013 for joining Obamacare:

2/3/2013, "John Kasich’s Obamacare flip burns conservatives," sub headline, "John Kasich becomes ObamaCare's biggest Red State catch," Politico

After big "ObamaCare catch" headlines, the reader is invited to be confused about the substantial difference if such exists between "ObamaCare," and "expanding Medicaid dramatically," or "an expansion" of Medicaid.  Politico says Kasich is going "to expand Medicaid dramatically using federal money."...

And, "Kasich’s not alone. He’s joining four other Republican governors in accepting the expansion."..
.
Farther down page 1 of the article, Politico is back to saying Kasich is a big catch for ObamaCare:

"And now that Kasich has taken the plunge, some of Obamacare’s supporters hope others will follow. Topher Spiro of the liberal Center for American Progress says Kasich’s decision should be influential” with other GOP governors."...

Comment: "Expanding Medicaid" is different from seizing one sixth of the nation's economy and putting it under the IRS. "Expanding Medicaid" could've been done on 1 page.

"Enactment of the Obama administration’s health care reform legislation demonstrates the growing power of this burgeoning constituency."...

4/1/2010, "The Obama Coalition," The Atlantic, Thomas Byrne Edsall

"Over the last two years, there has been a massive increase in the number of people who have no place to turn except to the government. Enactment of the Obama administration’s health care reform legislation demonstrates the growing power of this burgeoning constituency
a constituency which will reap a disproportionate share of the $1 trillion in new health care spending over the next decade....

The ranks of those who identify with either the “haves” or the “have-nots” are swollen, while the number of those seeing themselves as in the middle, centrally positioned, has declined....

A majority of the American labor movement is now directly dependent on tax dollars. In terms of political orientation, these workers can now be described as tax consumers as well as tax payers....

Health care reform marks a significant milestone in the restoration of the American progressive tradition....

Obama has taken major risks. He could go down in flames...or he could effect—as promised—the long-awaited transformation of American politics."

Extra: The AP erroneously claims IRS Tea Party investigations are causing "a firestorm" in he Beltway:

AP: "Multiple investigations into the practice are causing a political firestorm in Washington."...(parag. 11)

This isn't accurate. If "multiple investigations" are being done, none are serious or will cause a "firestorm." To the extent the GOP exists, it was desperate to silence the Tea Party which is not a threat to democrats. The GOP needed Obama to be re-elected in order to silence the TP and he was. If he helped them beat the TP or did nothing to stop their federal silencing, they owe him big time. End of story.
