'Republican Party leadership shows nauseating deference to ruling democrats and the media' and are destroying this country- McCann, AT

.
3/27/13, "Is the Republican Party America's Achilles Heel?" American Thinker, Steve McCann

"The hierarchy of the Republican Party has published a 100 page new and improved game plan entitled the "Growth and Opportunity Project" ostensibly to win future elections and re-tool the party.  While this effort is an improvement over similar exercises in recent years, it contains a number of major flaws indicative of the fact that the Party is still operating as if the national  political landscape was the same as the 1980's and 90's with a recognition that demographics and news dissemination has changed.

The most egregious of these flaws is the inability of the Republican Establishment to understand that the American Left, who are now in control of the Democratic Party, are the implacable enemy in a battle for the heart and soul of America.   A further amplification of this failure is the inability to recognize what the strategy of the left has been over the past 50 plus years as well as why it has been so successful.

Instead the report focuses on responding to the accusations and false narrative implanted in the media by the left.  Notably that the Republicans are old and white, they cannot appeal to minorities and the youth vote as they pursue policies that do not resonate with the American people and as a consequence they, as a Party, will never be able to win another national election unless they change and become more like the Democrats. Yet polls consistently show a majority of the electorate favoring conservative policies and ideas, but not the Republican Party -- as they have been all but willingly marginalized by the opposition.

There is a war going on in the United States -- as survivor of World War II I do not say that lightly. It is being waged by the current incarnation of the Democratic Party in order to transform the most successful nation in the history of mankind into another secular socialist state permanently ruled by an oligarchy made up of the establishment in their party.

The bulk of the conservative movement, and thus the base of the Republican Party, recognizes this reality. They have become increasingly alarmed at the fate awaiting the country if these radicals are not purged from the mainstream of American governance in the 2014 and 2016 election cycles. But when they look to the leadership of the Republican Party they see a nauseating deference to the party in power and the media -- in other words business as usual in Washington.  Apparently the Republican Establishment believes it will eventually win when it is their turn if they just can find a way to bribe minorities, particularly Hispanics into voting for them....

It has become painfully obvious over the past twenty years that the Republican Party leadership knows neither who the enemy is nor do they have a firm and unalterable conviction in what the Republican Party stands for....

"The Republican Party stood idly by and allowed themselves to be defined as the party of intolerance and inequity. The combined 12 years of George H.W. and George W. Bush, and their obsession with civility as well their refusal to forcefully respond to the most egregious of personal attacks combined with the Party's incoherent set of principles, validated and cemented in the public's mind the accusations hurled at the Republican Party by the Democrats and their sycophants in the media.

Yet the strategy of the left can be countered by an equally simple and effective tactic.  Use the same fairness and equality battering ram against them while forcefully and coherently responding to all their personal attacks as well as their omnipresent falsehoods and hypocrisy.  However this requires a commitment by the Republican establishment that it is the party of conservatism and a sobering recognition of the dangers the nation faces combined with an unwavering resolve to soundly and permanently defeat their political opponents.

The possibilities for the Republicans to go on a coordinated offensive using the fairness and equality cudgel, in language the low-information voter will understand, are endless....

The founders of this nation created a unique governmental structure in order to limit the supremacy of government.  However, with that structure there is an Achilles' heel.   For the government to function, because of the single member district structure, there can only be two major political parties vying for the votes of the people. When there is one party hell bent and succeeding in transforming the country and oppressing the people and the other party unwilling to forcefully challenge that effort, the future of the nation, as founded, is in serious jeopardy.

Instead of writing more "white papers" the Republican Party hierarchy needs to abdicate and turn over the reins to those willing to fight for the future of the American people before it is too late." via Free Republic

Ed. note: Well said but nothing will improve as long as Fox News exists and Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes do the hiring. They have Ruling Class Establishment views meaning they strongly agree with democrats on main issues, are adamant that the GOP reflect their views, do all the hiring on Fox News including Democrat secret weapon Karl Rove, control the editorial content on the channel, and have deep disdain for the grassroots. It's possible a new conservative voice can occasionally break through for us (such as Ted Cruz) but with canons blasting from Fox News against such insurrection these events will be rare. Add to this that much GOP money is now geared to beating Republicans who are conservative and not on beating democrats, you see the problem. The Bush family has destroyed this country and would do it again.

"Obama re-election helped GOP House Speaker Boehner": NPR

12/8/12, "Once Boxed-In, Boehner May Finally Be Master Of The House," NPR, Frank James

"In a paradoxical way, Obama's re-election victory coupled with congressional Democrats adding to their numbers may have helped Boehner. Some of those wins came at the expense of the Tea Party, the conservative movement whose affiliated House members have been very willing to stand up to Boehner.

In recent weeks, Boehner...has gotten his entire leadership team to sign his tax-raising, fiscal-cliff counteroffer....

Despite complaints from conservative activists and bloggers, however, Boehner remains the most powerful Republican in Washington.".

New Rove GOP group targets sitting Iowa congressman Steve King:

2/2/13, "Top Donors to Republicans Seek More Say in Senate Races" NY Times, Jeff Zeleny

"Representative Steve King, a six-term Iowa Republican, could be among the earliest targets of the Conservative Victory Project. He said he had not decided whether he would run for the Senate, but the leaders of the project in Washington are not waiting to try to steer him away from the race.
The group’s plans, which were outlined for the first time last week in an interview with Mr. Law, call for hard-edge campaign tactics, including television advertising, against candidates whom party leaders see as unelectable and a drag on the efforts to win the Senate. Mr. Law cited Iowa as an example and said Republicans could no longer be squeamish about intervening in primary fights."...

LaTourette is a close ally of Boehner’s, called Tea Partiers “chuckleheads,” and said he’ll raise money to protect RINOs.

“The Republican Main Street Partnership, a Washington-based group that has promoted moderate GOP lawmakers and policies, will remove the word “Republican” from its title and welcome center-right Democrats in 2013, Yahoo News has learned.

The organization’s board of directors voted Tuesday morning to scrap party identification from its title and be known simply as “The Main Street Partnership.” The group’s new president, former Ohio Republican Rep. Steven LaTourette, told Yahoo News that he plans to begin conversations with Blue Dog Democrats and centrist groups in the coming months....it would be my goal to work with Republicans and
Democrats who want to find the path forward to

getting things done and compromise.”

In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, LaTourette added: “While we have changed our name, we have not changed our values or our mission. We will continue to be a right of center organization and continue to represent

the governing wing of the Republican Party.”"...
