Senator Marco Rubio caved after planning to introduce an amendment requiring Iran to recognize the state of Israel, allowed the bill to pass with no such recognition. Rubio showed the world that the Democrat Party is the only functioning political party in the US-Rasley

4/15/15, "Republican Senator Bob Corker Is A Traitor," George Rasley, Conservative HQ Editor

"Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who planned to introduce an amendment that would have required the president to certify to Congress that Iran recognizes the state of Israel, wilted and settled for language asserting that the nuclear agreement would not compromise U.S. support for Israel’s right to exist.

Affirmation of Israel's right to exist is of course is a foundational principle of American foreign policy that was never questioned until Obama became president and Republican leaders on Capitol Hill became not so much the leaders of an opposition party, as a collection of craven cowards who wish only to avoid the unpleasantness actually having principles and standing for them would entail."...

"Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) was able to hold off GOP amendments in committee that would have disrupted the fragile congressional agreement."...

Establishment Republicans don't even bother to hide their mockery of the electorate. In this case, each "side" pretended something that didn't happen. The GOP pretended they got Obama to cave, and Obama pretended that, gosh, he got in there and worked with congress, and got it done:

4/15/15, "The Corker Cave-In," Keith Koffler, White House Dossier

"I keep reading today that the White House folded, caved, threw up the white flag, rolled over on its sword and died a humiliating death by accepting legislation by Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., giving Congress “a role” in the Iran negotiations.

In this case, that’s a bit of spin that both the White House and Republicans want you to buy. Because Republicans want you to think they’ve etched out some kind of a victory over Obama, and finally stood up one of his power grabs. While the White House want to camouflage . . . its latest successful power grab....

With the Corker bill, he now has Congress in his pocket as he joins Iran in shredding the Constitution over a Swiss negotiating table. And in ten to 15 years, when Iran conducts its first nuclear test, Congress will have had a “role” in the tragedy."

Comment: This wasn't about Corker per se. He's only head of the committee because he knows he's not really head of the committee.
