Jeb Bush Florida popularity is a media creation and certainly not evident in recent elections

.
6/6/12, "(Jeb) Bush’s high popularity in Florida — a crucial swing state in presidential election..." The guy Jeb Bush backed in 2010 for Florida governor lost, and in 2000 he couldn't deliver the state to his own brother.

"Down (in the polls) and out(spent), Bill McCollum is rolling out the big guns in his push to win the GOP primary for governor.

Former Gov. Jeb Bush will join the attorney general for a statewide fly-around Monday, the first day of early voting. Bush endorsed McCollum early in the contest and appeared in the campaign's first television ad -- back when the campaign took a positive tone.

But Bush's endorsement is largely lost in the madness now, as Rick Scott pours millions into the race for his own advertising and siphons support from the Republican base. Can Bush's glow help revive McCollum's faltering campaign and deliver Republican voters who still consider him the second coming? Or if McCollum can't make a comeback, will Bush's kingmaker status get tarnished?"

Ed. note: 'Kingmaker status?' His 'glow?' Media on both left and right make stuff up. (Daily Caller cited above is on the right, Tampa Bay Times is on the left.)

8/25/10, "Rick Scott Wins; McCollum and RPOF Lose," Shark Tank

"Last night’s Gubernatorial primary victory by Rick Scott over Attorney General Bill McCollum was proof positive that endorsements and unfair play by the GOP establishment does not carry the same weight and influence that it once did."...

McCollum's memo on the loss thanked "especially Governor Jeb Bush."...
