Huffington Post
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Tuesday that if Republicans don't join efforts to combat global warming, they will pay the political consequences. "I think it's our task to ensure that climate change lines up right behind immigration and gay rights as an issue," said Whitehouse at the Good Jobs, Green Jobs conference in Washington sponsored by labor unions and environmental groups. If Republicans continue their opposition to measures that confront global warming, Whitehouse said, "they'll run off the cliff like lemmings."

3/22/13, "Extreme denial of US climate science, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, the Pope, and the Timeline: Mrs. Sandra Whitehouse and Deepwater Wind"
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) lacking science to back his claim of US CO2 terror invoked the new Pope, inferring that when the new Pope expressed concern for “God’s creation” he meant concern for sacred bank accounts of Sheldon Whitehouse and his offshore wind turbine consultant wife Dr. Sandra Whitehouse.
The Pope more likely meant that people like Sheldon Whitehouse who sold stocks on inside information in the 2008 financial crisis betrayed “God’s creation,” the innocent Americans he let twist slowly, slowly in the wind to suffer a terrible fate.
Whitehouse imagines the Pope would deny abundant recent scientific data that US CO2 has dropped for many years, is heading lower, and that the US leads the world in reduction of CO2.
Those like Whitehouse who claim to be strong environmentalists are the opposite, have done nothing to stop the destruction of rainforests by organized crime’s $100 billion illegal logging trade, the murder and violent removal of indigenous people from their land to satisfy EU and UN corporate carbon trading deals, and the growth of ethanol rackets a UN official calls “a crime against humanity.”
- (Honduran farmers alleged killed by private climate militias, EurActiv)
The scientific consensus that US CO2 has dropped for many years, is heading lower, and that US CO2 could go to zero and it would have little or no effect on the planet because China’s high emissions are heading higher.
Global Warming ‘action’ was mandated and institutionalized in US government in 1990 by George Bush the 1st in the “U.S. Global Change Research Act of 1990.” CO2 reduction is mentioned near the end in Sec. 204, item 4.
Devoting 13 federal agencies to ‘climate’ matters if anything is a suffocating amount of “action.”
Trillions have been taken from US taxpayers for climate endeavors via agency budget allocations, tax subsidies, diversion of US military to climate or green projects, countless federal regulations, vast sums shipped out in no strings foreign aid for ‘climate’ capacity building, etc.
Other countries’ CO2 hasn’t dropped despite hundreds of billions spent on cap and trade and extra taxes. This isn’t to say the US government hasn’t become business partners with the ‘climate’ industry.
Separate from the CO2 issue, the scientific consensus states that the planet hasn’t warmed in at least 15 years.

China will burn more and more coal for years to come. Sheldon Whitehouse and his wife have no say in the matter.
