Ghosts of poisonous and deservedly mocked Reagan and Bush era neocons are shockingly reborn as saints in 2019 impeachment witnesses whose delusions point to a larger problem-Moon of Alabama

US and NATO “helped” Ukraine by removing thousands of tons of its conventional weapons stockpiles in 2000s that in 2019 Ukraine says it desperately needs.

US grim reaper, “State Department’s Mission: Coup d’etat," The Technocratic Tyranny, 2/27/2016

Ukraine’s IMF $17 billion bailout in 2014 required Ukraine to continue violence against Russian speaking regions in Eastern Ukraine: 5/1/2014, IMF warns Ukraine on bailout if it loses east,CNBC. This despite that Mr. Putin says while Russia respects “the will of the people of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions [to declare their independence]”…“I would like to stress that Russia is interested in and will strive to ensure the full and unconditional implementation of the Minsk agreements, and I don’t believe there is any other way to settle this conflict today." 6/6/2015...The $17 billion IMF “loan” was made for political reasons: ““This is something of a leap of faith for the IMF and is politically driven by key IMF shareholders to support the [US selected Yats is the guy"] (interim prime minister Arseniy) Yatseniuk “kamikaze” administration in its [alleged] reform efforts,” according to Tim Ash, head of emerging markets research at Standard Bank.”...Yats’ “reforms” of course made things even worse in Ukraine than they’d been before the “revolution.” “Yats” remained Prime Minister for two years, 2014-2016, and unfortunately never overcame his addiction to oligarchs. Congratulations to Crimea for dodging a major bullet when they said to the US, thanks anyhow-–but we’re not interested in being violently forced to become a US colony, run by a US puppet, and plundered to death, per standard US boilerplate. After their referendum, Crimea was fortunate to be able to rejoin Russia.

12/5/19, “The Delusions Of The Impeachment Witnesses Point To A Larger Problem,” Moon of Alabama

“During yesterday’s [Wed., 12/4] impeachment hearing at the House House Judiciary Committee one of the Democrats’ witnesses made some rather crazy statements. Pamela Karlan, a Stanford law professor, first proved to have bought into neo-conservative delusions about the U.S. role in the world:

“America is not just ‘the last best hope,’ as [Democrat Rep. Hakeem] Mr. Jefferies said, but it’s also the shining city on a hill. We can’t be the shining city on a hill and promote democracy around the world if we’re not promoting it here at home.”

As people in Bolivia and elsewhere can attest the United States does not promote democracy. It promotes rightwing regimes and rogue capitalism. The U.S. is itself not a democracy but a functional oligarchy as a major Harvard study found:

“Economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence.”

But worse than Karlan’s  pseudo-patriotic propaganda claptrap were her remarks on the Ukraine and Russia:

“This is not just about our national interests to protect elections or make sure Ukraine stays strong and fights the Russians so we don’t have to fight them here, but it’s in our national interest to promote democracy worldwide." [Who could’ve predicted a Democrat in 2019 would parrot the once rightfully mocked, “so we don’t have to fight them here” claim by George Bush administration mass murderers?].
[Image: 9/2018, George W. Bush with Mrs. Obama at McCain funeral, ap]

That was not a joke. From the video it certainly seems that the woman believes that nonsense.

[12/4/19, Aaron Mate twitter: “Thanks to Pamela Karlan for so aptly capturing Democratic elites’ delusional, Reaganite, jingoistic Cold Warrior mindset in your claim that we need to arm Ukraine “so they fight the Russians there and we don’t have to fight them here” and we remain “that shining city on the hill. ]

(continuing): “For one the Ukraine is not fighting “the Russians”. The Kiev government is fighting against east-Ukrainians who disagree with the Nazi controlled regime which the U.S. installed after it instigated the unconstitutional [2014] Maidan coup [“Yats is the guy.”] Russia supplies the east-Ukrainians and there were a few Russian volunteers fighting on their side but no Russian military units entered the Ukraine.

But aside from that how can anyone truly believe that the Ukraine “fights the Russians so we don’t have to fight them here”?

Is Russia on the verge of invading the United States? Where? How? And most importantly: What for?

How would that be in Russia’s interest?

One must be seriously disturbed to believe such nonsense. How can it be that Karlan is teaching at an academic level when she has such delusions?

And how is it in U.S. interest to give the Ukraine U.S. taxpayer money to buy U.S. weapons? The sole motive behind that idea was greed and corruption, not national interest:

“[U.S. special envoy to Ukraine] Volker started his job at the State Department in 2017 in an unusual part-time arrangement that allowed him to continue consulting at BGR, a powerful lobbying firm that represents Ukraine and the U.S.-based defense firm Raytheon. During his tenure, Volker advocated for the United States to send Raytheon-manufactured antitank Javelin missiles to Ukraine — a decision that made Raytheon millions of dollars.”

[Ed. note: Never allow the US to “help” your country: US and NATO “helped” Ukraine by removing thousands of tons of its conventional weapons stockpiles in 2000s that in 2019 Ukraine says it desperately needs.]

(continuing): “The [javelin] missiles are useless in the conflict. They are kept near the western border of Ukraine under U.S. control. The U.S. fears that Russia would hit back elsewhere should the Javelin reach the frontline in the east and get used against the east-Ukrainians. That Trump shortly held back on some of the money that would have allowed the Ukrainians to buy more of those missiles thus surely made no difference. To claim that it hurt U.S. national interests is nonsense.

It is really no wonder that U.S. foreign policy continuously produces chaos when its practitioners get taught by people like Karlan. In the Middle East as well as elsewhere Russian foreign policy runs circles around U.S. attempts to control the outcome. One reason it can do that is the serious lack of knowledge and realism in U.S. foreign policy thinking. It is itself the outcome of an educational crisis. U.S. ‘political science’ studies implement a mindset that is unable to objectively recognize the facts and fails to respond to them with realistic concepts.

The Democrats are doing themselves no favor by producing delusional and partisan witnesses who repeat Reaganesque claptrap. They only prove that the whole affair is just an unserious show trial….Do the Democrats really believe that their voters will not notice this?”

6/6/2015,Vladimir Putin Urges Donetsk And Luhansk To Remain Part Of Ukraine,” International Business Times, Christopher Haress

“This is a fundamental issue.”…

Added: Russian President Putin fully endorses Minsk agreements: 6/6/2015:

6/6/2015, Putin: self-proclaimed republics’ readiness to remain in Ukraine is precondition for talks,

“I would like to stress that Russia is interested in and will strive to ensure the full and unconditional implementation of the Minsk agreements, and I don’t believe there is any other way to settle this conflict today," he [Mr. Putin] added.”…"The leaders of the self-proclaimed republics in eastern Ukraine have publicly stated that under certain conditions-meaning the implementation of the Minsk agreements-they are ready to consider themselves part of the Ukrainian state, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview in an Italian newspaper on Saturday.”…

Added: In 2014, Donetsk region of Ukraine declared its independence and asked to join Russia. While respecting the will of Donetsk citizens to declare their independence, the Russian government didn’t invite Donetsk to join Russia, instead advised dialogue with Kiev:

May 12, 2014, “Ukraine crisis: Donetsk region asks to join Russia," UK Guardian, Shaun Walker in Donetsk and Oksana Grytsenko in Luhansk

“Instead of previous statements saying it would protect people in the regions with troops if need be, the Kremlin called for dialogue between the government in Kiev and the south-east regions of the country.

“In Moscow, we respect the will of the people of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions [to declare their independence] and are counting on practical implementation of the outcome of the referendum in a civilised manner, without any repeat of violence and through dialogue,” the Kremlin said.”

Added: George Bush Middle East invasions began the enslavement of Americans to the war machine. (First published in 2003 as US began Iraq invasion):

March 19, 2003, “Shine, Perishing Republic: Kiss the good old USA good-bye, say hello to the American Empire,” by Justin Raimondo,

“Can “democracytake root in the arid soil of the Middle East, forcibly implanted and fertilized with plenty of U.S. tax dollars? To the social engineers of the neoconservative persuasion, who see the world as their laboratory, it is an experiment worth conducting. The threat of terrorism, they maintain, cannot be defeated unless we go in and yank it out by its roots – and plant something else to take its place….They see themselves as revolutionaries, and that they are. But their revolution is not directed primarily against foreign tyrants: for even as they put on a great show of “liberating” foreign peoples, they are in the process of enslaving the American people, and destroying the remnants of the Constitution. They are worse than mere hypocrites: they are defilers, who pray loudly even as they desecrate the gravestones of their ancestors.

The era of the American Republic is over, and age of Empire is begun. Where the US once fought wars in self-defense, it now wages wars of outright conquest. Where once we fought to preserve our constitutional form of government, today we must fight to restore it. The difference is that now we are fighting a rearguard action. The enemy is not only within the gates: he has seized our main headquarters, and is now conducting mop-up operations against such pockets of resistance as still persist....

The war on Iraq is going to be short, but the occupation will a task without end, a heavy burden that will be more than just punishment for our vainglorious “victory.”

“A future of endless conflicts, perpetual war for perpetual peace, and color-coded terror unto infinity – that is what we have to look forward to….

Our old Republic, once the enemy of kings and contemptuous of empires, is now donning the imperial purple….

The America we loved is lost, perhaps forever. That is the meaning of this [2003 Iraq] war. The republic that bound its rulers with the chains of the Constitution and freed the rest of us to live in peace is no more.”…

[Comment: US genocide and money laundering machine will end when it's denied access to US tax dollars. This can be accomplished by breaking up the US into a few parts.]

Added: Ukraine’s $17 billion IMF bailout in 2014 required Ukraine to continue violence against Russian speaking eastern regions:

5/1/2014, IMF warns Ukraine on bailout if it loses east,“ CNBC, Catherine Boyle

“Ukraine, struggling with a stuttering economy…has had its $17 billion International Monetary Fund bailout signed off. But international lenders are already warning of threats to its funding….

"Should the central government lose effective control over the east, the program will need to be re-designed.”…

The IMF predicts Ukraine’s economy to shrink by 5 percent at least this year [2014]. The country has been hidebound by corruption in business and politics….

“This is something of a leap of faith for the IMF and is politically driven by key IMF shareholders to support the [US selected Yats is the guy"] (interim prime minister Arseniy) Yatseniuk “kamikaze” administration in its [alleged] reform efforts,” according to Tim Ash, head of emerging markets research at Standard Bank.

Ukraine will get $3.2 billion straight away to help stabilize its economy, which was already in troubleThe ratio of public sector debt to gross domestic product, a key measure of how heavily the government is indebted, will rise from 41 percent at the end of 2013 to 57 percent at the end of 2014 following the deal.”…

Added: More on failed US puppet “Yats” who was addicted to oligarchs and created a worse hell in Ukraine than existed before the “revolution:”

Yats” of course was addicted to oligarchs, so created an even worse hell in Ukraine than existed before the 2014 US-led “revolution.” Lesson: Never accept US “help” for any reason.)

The first thing Yats (Yats is the guy") did after Ukraine’s “democracy revolution” in 2014 was to call in the oligarchs, (who control 80-85% of Ukraine’s GDP as of 2015), ask for their help, and give them parts of the “new” government….3/2014, Ukraine Turns to Its Oligarchs for Political Help," NY Times, Andrew E. Kramer, Kiev, Ukraine: The interim governmentis recruiting the country’s wealthy businessmen, known as the oligarchs, to serve as governors of the eastern provinces.”...Two years later in April 2016, “Yats” resigned as Ukraine Premier, having been unable to wean himself from oligarchs: He couldn’t abandon the former practice of consulting the oligarchs before making decisions,” Yuri V. Lutsenko, the head of the president’s faction in Parliament, said in a telephone interview.”

Added: 3/10/2014, US Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt says US taxpayer funded personnel from FBI, Dept. of Justice, and Dept. of the Treasury are on the ground in Ukraine to help investigate so-called "financial crimes." (When they're done, we could really use their help in the US):

At 1:15, Pyatt: "We have already on the ground here in Ukraine experts from the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the Department of the Treasury who are working with their Ukrainian counterparts to support the Ukrainian investigation."

Added: Oligarchs gained even more power after US "help:"

As of Oct. 2017, political influence of some Ukraine oligarchs has only increased since 2014 US led regime change:

"Since 2014 [through 10/3/2017] there has not been much change [in Ukraine]. Business people continue to hold leading political roles. After the Euromaidan protests [and US regime change], the political influence of some oligarchs increased even further."…10/3/2017
