Hugh Hewitt: Ted Cruz is the Republican frontrunner for 2016

Talk radio host and author Hugh Hewitt is being interviewed by HuffPost Live about his book, The Queen, about Hillary:

6/17/15, "Radio's Hugh Hewitt: Ted Cruz Is The Republican Frontrunner For 2016," HuffPostLive

In the 2:12 clip (after an ad), the interviewer begins by bringing up Rand Paul. Following are approximate quotes:

At about :40, Hewitt says he advises Hillary in his book that if Ted Cruz is the nominee, don't debate him, simply reject debates, he'll kill you.

At :53, Hewitt says right now as I see it...Ted Cruz is the frontrunner.

(The HuffPo interviewer is stunned to hear this).

Hewitt continues, Cruz is better prepared to run the board of all the candidates.
(The interviewer again questions the notion).

Hewitt continues, Cruz has the deepest level of social media engagement.

Comment: Hugh Hewitt is very Establishment, was a big Romney guy, so it was a surprise to hear him acknowledge the obvious about Ted Cruz. Hewitt's bio from the Amazon page, "About the author: Hugh Hewitt is a lawyer, law professor and broadcast journalist whose nationally syndicated radio show is heard in more than 120 cities across the U. S. every weekday afternoon. Professor Hewitt is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School, and has been teaching Constitutional Law at Chapman University Law School since it opened in 1995."
