""'Call them racists,' How 'journolists' tried to suppress the news," WSJ, Taranto, 7/20/10. In 2008, Democrat journalists sought to end dissent. To shut someone up, they say, 'call them racist.'

9/6/12, " Representative John Lewis spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention about his experiences in the Civil Rights movement as one of the original 'Freedom Riders'. Representative Lewis also spoke about the importance of the vote, and criticized recent voter ID laws." (6 minutes, 45 sec.)
No! they shouted.
Lewis tells the crowd we must move heaven and earth to re-elect Obama because blacks are in immediate physical danger from the GOP, that Republicans are going to "go back" to the days of beating up blacks, charging a poll tax and making them count jelly beans to vote. Lewis has it exactly backwards.
Obama's election brought black thugs menacing a deadly billy club near the front door of a Philadelphia polling place on Obama's election day in 2008. Obama refused to prosecute them and Republicans are afraid of their own shadow so they let it go. The people who could have done something to protect our safety and civil society chose to do nothing (with the exception of the whistleblower). Whites being physically threatened with a deadly weapon in front of a polling place is nothing of course.
No reports emerged of whites standing guard in front of polling places waving a billy club in 2008 but it's Republicans who are deadly, violent racists.
Lewis tells the crowd Republicans are rigging the vote and if they win the White House it will be all over for blacks. He knows it for a fact because he says some Republican person in Pennsylvania has already guaranteed Romney will win. Lewis said Republicans were going make sure blacks couldn't vote.
He didn't suggest black voting had been suppressed during Bush's 8 years, so I guess this is something new he thinks Republicans are doing.
Lewis ignores Black Republicans Allen West and Tim Scott who were elected in 2010, and popular new black Republican candidates running for congress this year, Mia Love from Utah, and Vernon Parker from Arizona.

US civil rights attorneys sought prosecution of this case for over two years, but Obama refused to allow it. His attorney general, Holder, says the above incident was nothing compared to what "his people" went through.
From Washington Post, 9/24/10, Coates has been given whistleblower protection:

"Four white Philadelphia teachers charge in federal race-bias lawsuits that a black principal suggested they were unfit to teach black students.
The teachers work at a predominantly black school in the city’s East Falls neighborhood.
Their lawsuits say a former principal had them read an article that said “white teachers do not have the ability
- to teach African American students.”
The Thomas Mifflin Elementary teachers say the principal and others undermined their work by reprimanding them, randomly changing their room assignments and letting black teachers
- ignore rules that whites had to follow.
The lawsuits were filed last week and first reported on Tuesday by Courthouse News."...
