"Two million bikers are riding around D.C. Wednesday in commemoration of the September 11 attacks and in response to a planned march by Muslims.

Organizers of the event "2 Million Bikers to DC" say the event will circumvent D.C. and ride around the outer loop of the Capital Beltway.

The bikers are expected to take off from their location down on Indian Head Highway at 11:00 a.m.

A month ago, the group requested a permit to ride into D.C., which was later declined.

The coordinator for the 2 Million Bikers group, Belinda Bee, has told the Washington Times newspaper that the ride was in response to the Million American March Against Fear.
That gathering was also planned for Wednesday by the American Muslim Political Action Committee.

The Million American March Against Fear was previously called the Million Muslim March before the name was changed.

According to MAMAF's Facebook page, the rally is "a historic event for solidarity of humanity to establish peace, harmony and justice.""
