“This is a real Caravan of American’s wanting to see President Trump," Wrench said.”

10/24/18, “Thousands gather in Mosinee for President Trump’s rally,” WSAW TV, Mosinee, Wisconsin.

“The excitement for tonight’s rally even carried outside of endeavor hanger. As the line for people getting in, stretched for miles outside of the airport.

“There’s thousands of people here, there’s at least a mile to the parking at its going farther and farther back,” rally attendee Gerry Wrench said.

At the rally for Donald Trump in Mosinee, there were people who traveled for hours for the opportunity to see the President.

“I’m here with my son, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to at least wave at him,” Wrench added.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we live in a very small town. Regardless of how you feel about the president, he is our president and he’s going to be here and I think it’s very important to be here,” Mosinee high school junior Jackson Swita mentioned.

“Just to see him, get in line, make sure we get in there. Like, experience of a lifetime,” said Minocqua native Kirsten Zimba.

Many others had the same idea.

“This is a real Caravan of American’s wanting to see President Trump, Wrench said.

Thousands of people showed up to the event….With the sheer numbers that were in attendance, not everyone was able to get inside.”…

10/24/18, Trump rallies Wisconsin GOP while promising capture of the person behind homemade bombs,” Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Patrick Marley, Bill Glauber, Haley BeMiller, Mosinee, Wisconsin

“President Donald Trump decried bomb threats and devices sent to prominent Democrats as he made a campaign swing Wednesday through central Wisconsin to boost Gov. Scott Walker and U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir.

(continuing): “Trump spent much of the next hour touting Walker and Vukmir and weighing in on several issues, particularly immigration.

Trump told the crowd of thousands, many of them wearing his trademark “Make America Great Again hats, about the battle to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, tax cuts and a caravan of Central American migrants making its way through Mexico to the U.S. border.

“This will be the election of the caravans, Kavanaugh, law and order, tax cuts and common sense,” Trump said.

Walker is a former campaign rival who at times has embraced the president and at others has distanced himself from him. Trump made clear any past differences were behind them, at least for now.

“He’s become a great friend of mine,” Trump said. “One of the most capable members of government, Gov. Scott Walker.

“He’s a warrior for Wisconsin workers and families. …. He’s a warrior. Didn’t he win like three elections last time?” he said, referring to Walker winning two terms and a 2012 recall election….

The president’s visit came a day after Walker took a Trumpian turn with an ad contending his Democratic opponent, state schools Superintendent Tony Evers, wanted to help “illegals.”…

Trump kept with that theme….Trump suggested he would take steps to tighten the country’s border ahead of the Nov. 6 election.

“Wait till you see what happens over the next couple of weeks,” Trump said. “You’ll see a very secure border.”

In recent polls, Walker is down or statistically tied with Evers.

With Wednesday’s event, Walker was banking on Trump getting the Republican base excited at a time when Walker has fretted that a “blue wave” could hit Wisconsin.

He appeared to achieve that goal. He basked in an enthusiastic response from the crowd that at times chanted, “Four more years!”

Before the event, Walker tweeted that he planned to give Trump a baseball cap emblazoned with the motto: “Make Dairy Great Again,” to thank the president for “sticking up for Wisconsin’s dairy farmers in the trade deal with Canada!

“Check out the hat I’m going to give President Trump when he’s here — to thank him for sticking up for Wisconsin’s dairy farmers in the trade deal with Canada!

Walker and Vukmir spoke before Trump and were invited on stage by Trump in the middle of his remarks, as well....

Vukmir, a state senator from Brookfield, is trailing Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in polling.

“I don’t know if she liked me in the beginning, but she likes me now,” Trump said of Vukmir....

Vukmir criticized Baldwin for her handling of the over-prescription of opioids at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center....

Awaiting his first Trump rally, Tom Kosciesza of Wisconsin Rapids said he believes the president’s visit will boost Walker and Vukmir. He also said it was nice to be among fellow Trump supporters.

“Sometimes out in the regular daily life you don’t get a whole lot of kudos from people when you support Trump,” he said.

Karen Krause said she’s heard every one of Trump’s speeches since he was elected but Wednesday was the first rally she attended.

“We need to rally the base and get other people involved that don’t normally vote in midterm elections,” she said.

Philip Mirr of Green Lake said he was excited to see Trump in person for the first time. He admires the president for his blunt style.

“He talks the way I speak,” he said. “I’m not a politically correct person.”

He likes Trump’s stance on the border, crime, the economy and trade.

“When they talk about fair trade, how bad have we been getting ripped off?” he asked. “It’s huge.”…

“He’s for us,” he said of Walker. “The last administration, I know what he had to dig out of.”…

Walker and Trump worked together to get Foxconn Technology Group of Taiwan to build a plant in Mount Pleasant….Trump touted the Foxconn deal and their work together on the issue….

“This is truly one of the great plants, certainly in this country, and it was done because of Scott Walker,” Trump said.”
