More achievements
 
In his speech, the president also said that between 2017 and 2018, one thousand 250 gang members from Barrio 18 and Mara Salvatrucha have been captured, for which 150 structures dedicated to extortion and murder were dismantled. 

According to the president, his administration also managed to decrease to 22.9 homicides per 100 thousand inhabitants, when the average in Latin America is 23 homicides per 100 thousand.
 
The president also highlighted the eradication of 417 million poppy plants during 2017, which translates into US $ 1,400 billion, which would later be produced as heroin.
 
In addition, said Morales, 200 nautical miles of the maritime area of ​​ Guatemala "are free" of the transfer of drugs and work is being done to make this happen in the 400 nautical miles that correspond to the country."
