Egypt, PLO and Islamic Jihad all met this week in Egypt. Nice that billions of US taxpayer dollars have been diverted to the Islamic Spring

They want Obama borders as "starting point."

It is now apparent that the reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah is also a wedge for the accreditation of organizations such as Islamic Jihad.

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority head, met in Cairo on Monday with Ramadan Shallah, secretary- general of Islamic Jihad, and his deputy, Ziad Nakhleh.

This may have been a factor in the IDF raid in Jenin last night against Islamic Jihad’s infrastructure and front organizations.

Egypt’s official Middle East News Agency (MENA) said the Palestinians confirmed their readiness to restart peace negotiations with Israel. They want them based on U.S. President Barack Obama’s May 19 speech stating Israel’s pre-1967 lines as a starting point for new borders. This is an indication of the negative impact of the Obama address, as this is now the starting point in the Arab mind for any negotiations,

  • and further concessions are expected.

In his visit to Cairo yesterday, Abbas thanked the head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) Field Marshal Military Council, Hussein Tantawi, for opening the crossing at Rafah and facilitating attempts at reconciliation amongst the Palestinians."

"According to the 2007 State Department Country Reports on Terrorism, EIJ has been active worldwide "for several years under the auspices" of al-Qaeda. EIJ is thought to be involved with most of the terrorist attacks on the United States in the last two decades, and its operatives played a key role in both attacks on the World Trade Center." from Council on Foreign Relations website, "Egyptian Islamic Jihad"
