Barron looks at the landscape: ”We’ve said all along that we don’t think that the conservative movement is unwelcoming to gay people. There is a fringe element. A really nasty, anti-gay, bigoted element.

Yes, these fringe-group bigots such as Heritage Foundation, American Family Council, Sen. DeMint and Gov. Pawlenty. And let’s not forget all those nasty folks who think that the Constitution means what it says, and so does the Bible.

  • Let’s marginalize that whole gang - that’s surely a winning strategy for conservatives.

CPAC's best efforts brought us Obama, so I have no interest in them to begin with. The leadership of any group sets the tone, and here I see a group, CPAC, with no leadership. Its alleged leaders have provided an environment where longtime members are publicly smeared by newcomers. This is separate from the issue of GoProud itself which is of less interest to me than useless CPAC management. As I posted earlier, CPAC has worse problems that require more publicity:
