Mon., 4/13/20, Mike Francesa on WFAN and Radio.com, @1:03:40 on radio.com
“The one mistake he [Trump] keeps making, he keeps putting him in front of us. Right now it’s gotta be about us. We’re
tired of being home, worried about our lives, worried about our
businesses, worried about feeding our families, worried about where the
next meal is coming from, and looking for some answers. And that’s what
you look to your leaders for when things are bad, instead of the same nonsense every day….
People in front of microphones in positions of authority need to respond when things get tough, like right now….We advanced nothing today….It’s time to think of what the people care about, not a re-election campaign. Very sad, very predictable unfortunately, but very sad….[1:18:40]
Forget the idea of testing. That’s by the boards.…I haven’t heard the word testing in weeks…None of us want to know what our lives are going to look like in June or July.”…
Added: Re: testing, earlier in the 5pm hour on Radio.com, not heard on WFAN, Mike said:
“They already screwed the testing stuff up.…Pence
got up there the first week and said, “We’ll give out a million tests
by the weekend, and we’ll give out 5 million tests in two weeks. That
was a month ago, and we’ve done less than 2 million tests nationally.
Why? Two reasons. Number 1, the stuff needed for the testing they
don’t have. Number 2, half the tests the FDA has allowed people to make
don’t work. They allowed a whole bunch of people to make tests, except they weren’t capable of making them. So we don’t have a lot of tests.
That hasn’t worked out well. So I don’t know how much testing is going
to play into this in the immediate future, because no one has any
tests.”
[WFAN, 6-6:30] “Give people a plan. That’s
what Cuomo did this afternoon. He didn’t give a date, but he said,
here’s how we’re going to plan. We’re going to have six states, we’re
all intertwined, we all use I95. We’re going to act like we’re one big state. We’re going to open and close things in cooperation….[Mike] Take care of the American people and everything else will take care of itself in November.”
…………………………………..
My comment: In election polls, they sometimes ask respondents “does the candidate care about people like me?” If I were asked that about Trump’s post-election performance, I’d say not in the slightest, never will. The same is true about most politicians, but the point is Trump was supposed to be different. At this late date Trump stalls some more and proves his "America Last" cred by assigning his beloved America Last family members to a “council on re-opening" along with a few bureaucrats meaning, “Screw you. I either can’t or won’t present ideas like Cuomo did, and there’s nothing you rubes can do about it:”
[UPDATE: Now Trump says Ivanka and Jared aren’t on the council]

4/13/20, “It’s Time to Get Serious About Reopening the Economy,” Rush Limbaugh
“It’s time to get going on this, regardless how it’s done. There need to be some ideas put forth that people can support or not. But the effort needs to get serious. It needs to move beyond the talk phase now. There needs to be some action here, because the longer this goes without action, the longer we’re gonna be shut down.”
