9/27/18, “GOP Voters Want ‘The Wall’; GOP Congress Doesn’t,” Rasmussen Reports

“The Republican-led Congress has produced yet another big spending bill that fails to fund President Trump’s border wall even though a sizable majority of GOP voters supports the project.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 43% of all Likely U.S. Voters now think the United States should build a wall along the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigration, up from just 37% in July of last year. More than half (51%) still oppose the wall, but that’s down from 56% in the previous survey. (To see survey question wording, click here….

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on September 23-24, 2018 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.”….

Comment: Some Rasmussen data is free, some is subscription. I’m a platinum subscriber. Unfortunately, it’s now clear that Candidate Trump never intended to build The Wall. As soon as he was elected, he made The Wall contingent on congressional approval. If Candidate Trump had said The Wall was contingent on congressional approval, it would’ve ended The Wall as a campaign issue–because we all know congress would never approve it. Many Americans desperately want The Wall and will never get it because both political parties want open borders. All the money in the world is behind open borders. Not a penny is behind allowing Americans to have their own country and culture.
