More on Rick Perry and the Aga Khan from Salon, Houston Chronicle, others

.
Update #4, 8/27, "Ace asks: "Ummm... we're not allowed to talk with Grover Norquist anymore, Pam? Can't sign his anti-tax pledges?" Actually, it's the other way around: is it really necessary to play ball with Norquist in order to come out for cutting taxes? Is there no candidate who will have the courage to endorse his tax policies but distance himself from him because of his Islamic supremacist ties?"..."Perry Mafia Punked, "Beclowned" Indeed," Atlas Shrugs, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer

Update #3, 8/27, Pamela Geller again stands by statements about Rick Perry's associations, in particular responding to a Ms. Goodman and others. She explains that original links regarding the school curriculum were rendered inactive after she posted about them and details other ways citizens have been able to access the information. She affirms Perry's Norquist problem. I happened to read a post on a Republican site bashing Ms. Geller and saying in effect that without Norquist the Republicans won't be able to win the White House in 2012. With this kind of thinking it's easy to see how the establishment GOP destroyed itself, the country, and lifetimes of work and sacrifice. ed.

Update #2, Atlas Shrugs stands by problems with Perry pandering to the Aga Khan, the school curriculum matter, and the Grover Norquist matter. The defense of Perry's closeness with Grover Norquist was that Norquist "is very powerful." If that is the case, this country is worse off than anyone imagined. How do people get "powerful?" Because people say, oh Rick Perry likes him, they go on vacation, etc. If Rick Perry cares about this country, he will stop associating with Norquist immediately ed.

Update, 8/23, to the person who sent me a comment that Sydney Perry is not married and that I am an (expletive) Palinbot. The story about Sydney Perry came as you can see from Salon.com which is obviously not a Palinbot site. The site where I saw the Salon story picked up is a right of center site which said they don't know if the story is true or not. I don't know their position on Ms. Palin.

8/18/11, "Don’t know if there’s any truth to the rumor that Rick Perry’s daughter is married to the Muslim son of the Aga Khan…" BareNakedIslam

…but there sure is a lot of information out there about Perry’s Islamo-pandering in Texas as well as his not having a problem with construction of a tower of terror in the form of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque in NYC.

I realize this information came from the far left wacko website, SALON, but if it’s true, it’s more than enough reason to reject Perry out of hand as he will be unable to effectively deal with our Muslim enemies. (H/T Diane)

I was surprised to see that a posting on a message board that indicated that Sydney Perry is married to one of Aga Khan’s sons. I don’t know if that’s true, she certain is old enough to be married. Here’s another link And another

If it is true, perhaps someone can confirm or ask Governor Perry. IF Sydney Perry married one of Aga Khan’s sons, did she convert to Islam? One of the other sons married an American wife and she converted. If not, what exactly is Sydney Perry doing now?

I noticed the other day that Rick Perry came to help put in the cornerstone for a mosque in Plano, connected with the Aga Khan. He also indicated on NPR that he had no problem with putting a mosque at Ground Zero. I also remembered that the Aga Khan had a project at MIT for teaching Islam around the world.

Here’s a press release from Governor Perry’s office about a Memorandum of Understanding.

Gov. Perry has been a long-time supporter and friend of the Ismaili community as Texas is home to tens of thousands of Ismaili Muslims who contribute to the social, economic and cultural fabric of the state. The governor and the Aga Kahn opened the Ismaili Jamatkhana in Sugar Land in 2002; Gov. Perry has welcomed His Highness to Texas on two occasions, and met with him in France to share ideas and common philosophies. To further inform Americans about the historical and cultural roots of Muslim societies, the University of Texas established the Muslim Histories and Cultures Project, training secondary school teachers in a curriculum on Muslim civilizations.

The MOU brings together the University of Texas and Aga Khan University in a collaborative effort to reach an additional 180 teachers in the Texas school system in the next three years. The Aga Khan University is a higher education institution with faculties, institutes, centers and other teaching facilities in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. It is part of the Aga Khan Development Network established by His Highness. The Aga Khan, is the 49th Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, the spiritual leader of 16 million Ismaili Muslims worldwide.

P.S. as a Side note, apparently the issue of Rick Perry’s collaborations to teach islam in schools was there in one of the last SBOE elections. From Houston Chronicle.
