Analyst Karl Denninger says, “The best thing we could do as an economy is go straight off the fiscal cliff and not come back because that would take about half of the deficit off the table immediately.”  The reason why the U.S. deficit is so large, according to Denninger, “Both sides want to spend more than they take in in taxes.”  Denninger says the Federal Reserve enables the U.S. to live well beyond its means.  Denninger contends,  

“The $85 billion a month the Fed is putting into the system enables deficits and spending. . . . When you debase the currency in this fashion, there is no free lunch.”   One thing that needs to be fixed is the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). 
Denninger says, “It is going to hammer tens of millions of middle class families that have never had to pay it before.”  Instead of a tax refund, some middle class families might owe a few thousand dollars in 2013.  The AMT might get a patch, but

"Why I and others led people to mail tea bags to Congress and our President in the first place: rampant theft of over taxpayer money propping up FAILED private businesses.

Then look at what's over at TeaParty.Org: you'll find the usual pablum.  Guns, gays, God.

Heh, I like talking about Guns, Gays and God too.  Let's talk about all of them within the context of The Constitution, which is what the Tea Party was supposed to be about....

The Tea Party was initiated as a political protest against the unlawful and in fact unconstitutional usurpation of power from the Congress and The People in the form of extortion-led bailouts of enterprises that had engaged in acts that I, and many others, believe were at least civilly actionable and in many cases crossed the line into criminal activity.

This indictment is not limited to the nation's large banks, although it certainly starts there.  The corruption of our economic and monetary systems runs the gamut from Fannie and Freddie through their ties to Congress (including literal sexual encounters in some cases), banking interests selling trash securities to everyone from pension funds on down, judges who don't judge but rather protect monied interests on Wall Street, 

The Federal Reserve intentionally debasing our currency and monetizing government debt, government spending that is running 40% above revenues and much more.

In short, The Tea Party was and is about the the corruption of American Politics and the blatant and outrageous theft from all Americans that has resulted.  It is about personal responsibility and enforcement of the law against those who have robbed, financially raped and pillaged the nation.

Yet today we hear literally nothing about these issues among the so-called "Tea Party" candidates and their backers.  

Not one word about throwing judges such as this one:




in the dock - although that, ladies and gentlemen, is a statement of felony judicial corruption.  If you as an investor run into trouble with a commodity or futures trade and sue you will not get your day in court - a literal "green light" to rob the people by the big banks with official judicial sanction.  And you wonder how Hillary Clinton managed to "win" in her Cattle Futures trades...

Tea Party my ass. This was nothing other than  

The Republican Party stealing the anger of a population that was fed up with  

The Republican Party's own theft of their tax money at gunpoint to bail out the robbers of Wall Street   and fraudulently redirecting it back toward electing the very people who stole all the ****ing money!

You want me to support The Tea Party as it is currently constituted?

NY Times front page article on demise of Tea Party has decided Florida Flavor-Tillison

"From it’s very inception, there has been an ongoing quest to define the Tea Party.  A required first step for politicians and media in minimizing the greatest threat to the status quo this country has seen since the 1960’s.

There have also been plenty of individuals willing to assist in this endeavor.  Channeling their inner P.T. Barnum, they eagerly step forward and proclaim themselves figureheads of the movement.  Even still, the results have been hit and miss.

So much so that the media decided to ‘create’ it’s own definition of the Tea Party, with the politicians only too happy to play along since it served the same need.  The end result being a steady drumbeat of misplaced criticism that slowly eroded any positive image the movement may have had.

For those who are paying attention, there’s a process that plays itself out again and again in this country.  Media ‘giants’ that serve as the mouthpiece of the Progressive Left, more often than not originating with the N.Y. Times, put out a narrative that lo and behold slowly disseminates across the land.  Much like a ripple across a pond.

Marching orders if you will.  It’s a marvel to behold, as you see a story dropped in New York or Washington today and see the narrative picked up tomorrow in places like Kansas City and Santa Fe.  Even as they routinely outmaneuver the Republican Party, it’s not all that difficult to grasp what the Far Left is up to.

All of which brings us to a N.Y. Times article released on Christmas Day titled, Clout Diminished, Tea Party Turns to Narrower Issues.  An article that has an overwhelming Florida flavor to it.

We hear from Don Gaetz, president of the Florida Senate.  A Republican who apparently believes it’s a productive move to poke at a movement that, much like a wounded animal, has suffered a sizable defeat and is lying in wait licking its wounds.

“I think the Tea Party movement is to the Republicans in 2013 what the McGovernites were to the Democrats in 1971 and 1972,” said Gaetz. “They will cost Republicans seats in Congress and in state legislatures. But they will also help Republicans win seats.”

The reference to McGovernites an apparent suggestion that the Tea Party, beholden to a narrow conservative agenda, is pushing the GOP to take a hard right turn.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many Republicans lawmakers view the basic concept of fiscal responsibility and limited government as a radical, ultra conservative idea.  And I didn’t see very many spouting this theory in 2010 as they picked themselves up from the ash heap of utter defeat, climbed on the back of the Tea Party and rode it to electoral success.

Not that Gaetz wasn’t prompted by some of the more, how shall we say, ‘animated’ elements of the Tea Party.  Of which, the movement never seems to be in short supply of… and are easily found, much like moths fluttering about an outdoor light at night.

Here the N.Y. Times doesn’t disappoint.  In reality, the personalities profiled in the article are every bit a representation of the tea party, yet at the same time no more a representation than you or I.  It’s the long established practice of the media shopping for individuals that support the theme at hand, nothing more.

And that theme, certain to be carried to the hinterlands of America, is that the Tea Party is now diminished or weakened, that it accepts this fate and will now scurry off to the fringes, picking up the banner of “narrower issues” – see more limited in scope.  In a sense, it is now being written off as being incapable of affecting the more complicated issues of our time.

While that desire may eventually prove to be true, certainly the actions of a fair number who’ve pushed themselves to the forefront of the movement give reason to think as much, in reality, that determination has yet to be made.

The average everyday folks who’ve always been the strength behind the Tea Party will ultimately decide.  As of now, the movement is at a very precarious place and the future is uncertain.  Much like a wounded animal, it may very well succumb to it’s injuries and die, yet, until it does, we should all be reminded that

As proof, the Times offers the fact that Republican leaders “have embraced raising tax revenues in budget negotiations, repudiating a central tenet of the Tea Party.” It ignores the fact that Republican leaders could not muster the votes in the House to pass those proposals.

"A little-known, Arizona-based tea party organization has hired a prominent Republican operative to help advance its mission in Washington, D.C. But after more than a year in operation and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, it’s still not clear what the group’s mission actually is.

Todd Cefaratti, founder of TheTeaParty.net, announced last week that the group had hired a big Washington gun: governmental affairs specialist Donna Wiesner Keene, a veteran of the Bush and Reagan administrations and the wife of the incoming president of the National Rifle Association, [and longtime CPAC pres.] David Keene.

Donna Keene said she will act as an intermediary between the field and Washington, helping activists connect effectively with lawmakers to influence policy and advising potential first-time candidates. She has lobbied for conservative groups such as Americans for Fair Taxation in the past, but she is not registered as a lobbyist for the TheTeaParty.net.
“There are a lot of questions about Washington,” she said in an interview with Roll Call. “How do we stay active? What issues need attention? That takes someone like me who understands Washington.”

But it’s not clear what TheTeaParty.net is active in. Despite its extensive website and an impressive ability to pull in money, 

TheTeaParty.net appears to do little more than promote its own name.

Unlike several large tea party organizations, whose leaders frequently discuss specific goals and agenda items with journalists, TheTeaParty.net acts quietly as an online meeting place and resource for hundreds of other tea party groups. Cefaratti, the man behind the group, rarely, if ever, speaks to the press and did not return numerous phone calls to his home or office. The group’s spokeswoman said he was too busy for an interview.

“We are not a normal tea party group that has meetings and things like that,” spokeswoman Vicki Dooling said. “We are a gatherer of other tea partyers.”

Cefaratti, who splits his time between his marketing consulting business and a second company that specializes in connecting loan officers with seniors interested in reverse mortgages, set up TheTeaParty.net last year as the tea party movement started to galvanize voters and dollars around “outsider” Republican candidates.

At the same time, he established a political action committee, called Stop This Insanity, which raised nearly $500,000 in the months leading up to the 2010 midterm elections. From March to October 2010, the committee spent just less than half that. Nearly all of its expenditures went to advertising services, airfare, lodging and promotional paraphernalia such as buttons and T-shirts, according to federal records.

The group has left very little trail since it was founded last spring, organizing few, if any, events. Federal records show no donations to candidates in the last election cycle....

TheTeaParty.net was also one of several organizations that sponsored the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference, (CPAC) the high-profile confab held every year in Washington. That is where Cefaratti met Keene, whose husband is the former president of the American Conservative Union, which sponsors the conference....

It appears that the organization also makes money off its mailing list. Emails obtained by Roll Call reveal that the group has rented its 200,000-person mailing list to companies such as Gold Rarities Gallery, an online gold and silver warehouse. 

An advertising representative at Newsmax said he helps TheTeaParty.net find clients and confirmed that the list is available for $7,000 ($35 for every thousand names). Dooling said no personal information is released to third parties during the process.

Questions about the legitimacy of TheTeaParty.net — also known as JoinTheTeaParty.us — are rife throughout the blogosphere and among the leaders of other tea party groups.
Some top conservatives have never even heard of the group, and other tea party leaders have only a vague understanding of what the group is and what it does."...
