"The US Africa Command, AFRICOM, has launched “Task Force Red Dragon,” which includes more than 2,000 Virginia National Guard (VNG) personnel (by January), the largest VNG deployment since WWII. Added to that will be National Guard Soldiers from Maryland and Kentucky which totals the most soldiers the division has mobilized since 1942. While Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia said, “The soldiers of Task Force Red Dragon are great examples of citizen-soldier service.” The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) rejects the idea that there is any useful service to be had in the continuing U.S. interference in the affairs of sovereign nations on the African continent or elsewhere. BAP demands not only the withdrawal of all U.S. troops in Africa, but the closure of all U.S. bases throughout the world.

According to BAP National Organizer Ajamu Baraka, “U.S. president Joe Biden is exploiting International Human Rights Day with his farcical and exclusionary “Summit for Democracy” in an attempt to advance the obscene notion that the U.S. and by extension the colonial states of Western Europe are somehow the defenders of democracy and human rights. This is despite the increasing lawlessness of the U.S. state in the form of murderous sanctions, support for coups, illegal wars, military agreements and anti-democratic destabilization campaigns in nations across the planet. These actions represent a massive assault on democracy and the dignity and human rights of colonized and racialized peoples and nations across the planet.”
AFRICOM is responsible for all US Department of Defense operations, exercises, and security operations on the African continent, its island nations and surrounding waters. AFRICOM initially began in 2007 and became fully operational on October 1, 2008. AFRICOM maintains relations with 53 African countries. AFRICOM’s role is to support and work in tandem with US foreign policy in Africa to support its national interests.
As Netfa Freeman, co-cordinator of BAP’s [Black Alliance for Peace] Africa Team, reminds us,“the real purpose of AFRICOM is to enable terrorism while at the same time [allegedly] prosecuting the “war on terror” in Africa.
This contradictory action ensures that Africa is in a constant state of war and instability.
In doing so AFRICOM nurtures and justifies its own reason for being while developing a dependence of African states on AFRICOM for their defense.“

"President Joe Biden played his trump card by appointing Jeffrey Feltman as his special representative in the Horn of Africa, including Sudan. It was now clear that the rules of the ’democratic transition’ had been discreetly written by Volker Perthes in collaboration with his US friends before the Berlin conference.
Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman is a leading figure in the US deep state. He played a role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and participated in the creation of Iraqi Kurdistan on behalf of the private company "Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq" [3]. He then became ambassador to Beirut where he organised the 2005 colour revolution ("Cedar revolution") and the false accusations of murder against the Lebanese and Syrian presidents, Emile Lahoud and Bashar al-Assad. He also served as an assistant to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Middle East. He became Director of Political Affairs at the United Nations, where he diverted UN resources to the war against Syria, including support for jihadists. He was forgotten during Donald Trump’s term in office, putting himself at the service of Qatar.
In May 2021, France organised a follow-up to the Berlin video conference in Paris. Financial issues were discussed and it was envisaged that Sudan would be granted $2 billion, including $1.5 billion to enable it to repay its arrears to the IMF [4].
The Sudanese population suffers from poverty and, in some regions, from hunger. Only certain tribes recognise themselves in the civilian government. They hope for a better life with the civilian government, while others see the government as a tribal enemy. The latter have therefore called on the military to defend their interests. For several months now, a civil war has been in progress. The military, supported by Saudi Arabia, has rightly threatened to force the civilian government to resign.
President Joe Biden sent Jeffrey Feltman to Khartoum at the beginning of the month, "anxious to restore civil peace". Then a second time, on October 23rd, to meet both parties. He explained to each that Western financial support would only continue if the Sudanese remained united. General al-Burhan pledged to do everything possible to preserve the unity of the country. Ambassador Feltman stayed in Khartoum for two nights.
As soon as Jeffrey Feltman’s plane took off in the early hours of October 25th, General al-Burhan and his "deputy" Hemidti demanded the resignation of the government, not the Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok. As they had told the US envoy, they wanted to force him to form a new team that would be more respectful of tribal balances. But the Prime Minister refused. So, less than an hour after Jeffrey Feltman’s plane left, he was put under house arrest.
The United States, the World Bank and the IMF immediately cried "military coup" and suspended their financial aid. The country, already on the verge of suffocation, plunged into it instantly. The African Union condemned the "coup". But Egypt, while calling on the two Sudanese parties to dialogue, seemed happy with the outcome. General al-Burhan is reportedly a military schoolmate of President al-Sissi.
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said little about the continuation of their valuable financial assistance. Turkey has also been silent: Ankara has leased the island of Suakin in Sudan for 99 years to set up a military baseand control the Red Sea, against Saudi Arabia.
Washington has submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council condemning the "military coup" and introducing sanctions. But Russia asked for a few days to verify the information.
Moscow, which remembers the lies that made the [regime change] war against Libya possible,feels that it is being misinformed in order to make it believe that the truth is not true.
The media discourse on the bad military crushing the good democrats does not seem very credible. The tone between the representatives of the different countries in the Council rose. Some pointed out that the events were not a "military coup" as such, since half the country had sided with the army and the latter had not dismissed the Prime Minister.
In August [2021], the United States resumed the Rumsfeld/Cebrowski strategy that it had pursued since September 11, 2001 in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen, killing at least one million people [5]. They are not trying to favour one Sudanese side against another. Just to drive them into confrontation until they themselves destroy the state structures and can no longer resist foreign powers.
For a decade, the "Friends of Syria", Volker Perthes and Jeffrey Feltman, kept us on our toes in the Levant, where they eventually lost. The US was forced to leave the region to Russia. Now the "Friends of Sudan," Volker Perthes and Jeffrey Feltman, are trying to destroy the Horn of Africa starting with Ethiopia and Sudan."

The only country that has survived the Rumsfeld/Cebrowski doctrine [3] [regime change/destruction] implemented by the Pentagon is Syria. If it has managed to do so, it is because its entire population is aware that only a state can protect it from enemies that are difficult to identify. The Levant is the region of the world where the very notion of a state was invented in ancient times. We are not talking here about power, but about the state, that is to say, about what allows a people to ’stand’ (stare in Latin, which gave rise to the state in European languages). After believing for a few months that a revolution was underway in their country, the Syrians understood that they were under attack from abroad and that only the state could save them. So whatever their grievances against the power, they served and defended the state. All other countries in the wider Middle East that have already collapsed were first divided into tribes or denominations."
Ethiopia is a federal country with regions dominated by a particular ethnic group. The current conflict is experienced as Tigrayans versus Omoros and Amharas. However, the opposition to the federal government among the Omoros has formed an alliance with the Tigrayans. The latter are convinced that they are supported by Washington. They proudly display the brief speech made by Jeffey Feltman at the funeral of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, a member of their tribe. They note that Feltman repeatedly accused the federal government of all kinds of crimes, briefly mentioning those of the Tigrayans and never mentioning their allies. This is not to understand the workings of US diplomacy after 9/11. Washington does not care about either side. It does not want either side to win. It wants to push both sides to kill each other until neither can raise its voice.
The conflict has brought back tribal prejudices that had more or less disappeared.
The federal Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, has done his utmost to reconcile his country with his former province of Eritrea, which is now independent. The quality of his action was recognised by the Nobel Committee, which awarded him the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. It was also to highlight that a Pentecostal Christian had managed to make peace with Muslims....In short, he is an honest man, but that could be changed in retrospect if he had to be disposed of.

Incidentally, Abiy Ahmed will not only have to deal with a problem he thought he had solved. He also has to deal with the large Renaissance Dam, which is being filled, and which could cause salinisation of the Nile to the detriment of Sudan and Egypt, and resolve the territorial dispute with Sudan over the Al-Fashaga triangle. It must also guard against the Islamic Courts in Somalia and maintain the peace it has signed with Eritrea.
Precisely, the Tigrayan rebels not only attacked Ethiopia, but also bombed the border of Eritrea (a former province of 6 million inhabitants) in order to reignite the civil war that tore the former Abyssinian empire apart for forty years. Far from falling into this trap, Eritrea, whose president Isaias Afwerki is himself ethnically Tigrayan but close to China, pursued the TPLF into Ethiopian territory, but did not attack the Ethiopian army.
Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman, continuing his policy of undermining peace in the region [4], then imposed sanctions on Eritrea [5]. Unexpectedly, Addis Ababa came to Asmara’s rescue, asking the US not to attack a state that "does not pose a threat to lasting peace" [6].
Several African leaders have interpreted Ambassador Jeffrey Feltman’s action as a move by Washington not only to dismantle Sudan and Ethiopia and then go after Eritrea, but also to reach out to the African Union.
The TPLF [Tigray] has a huge amount of weapons. They appear to have been ordered from Switzerland by the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus [7]. Given Mr Tedros’ close ties to Beijing, one might assume that they came from China. This is unlikely. Rather, they are weapons supplied by Pentagon subcontractors.
Washington, which has already imposed sanctions on Ethiopia, is preparing to withdraw Addis Ababa from its African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) programme. For the past decade, Ethiopian oil has been bought by US transnationals in exchange for US manufactured goods.This is not very advantageous, but if Ethiopia can no longer benefit from AGOA, it will no longer be able to export or import with the West. Unless Russia or China intervenes, famine and war will become widespread."
