8/8/12, "Oregon businessman allegedly slapped over anti-Obama window sign," Examiner.com, by Joe Newby
"Kevin "The Geek" Kerwin, a businessman who owns a computer shop in Lake Oswego, Oregon, said he was slapped by a woman over an anti-Obama sign in his window, Victoria Taft wrote Tuesday.
According to Taft, "Kerwin came to Oregon to get a fresh start after being wiped out by Hurricane Katrina." She added that he started his business with the money he had in his pocket.
After President Obama said business owners did not get where they are on their own, Kerwin posted a sign in his window saying that he built his own business and Obama had nothing to do with it.
On Monday, Taft wrote, Kerwin was visited by an elderly woman from Dunthorpe, who reportedly berated him for his sign. When he refused to remove it, she allegedly slapped him.
According to Taft, Kerwin "threatened to call the cops but she left and then shuffled across the street and lost herself in the stores and parking lot."
"He didn't get a picture or see her vehicle and doesn't know her name so did not report her to police," she wrote. Kerwin emailed Taft to tell her of the incident.
"A woman from Dunthorpe came in my shop today and got upset and hit me. Things are getting a little tense around here," he reportedly wrote.
While appearing as a guest on Taft's radio program, Kerwin said he reminded the woman about the language Bill Maher used against Sarah Palin.
"I'm tired of your party telling us what to do," he recalled saying. Later, he said that liberals have threatened to put him out of business over the sign, but he promised to fight back.
"Have you ever noticed that the 'tolerant' left has no tolerance for conservatives?" Taft asked, before reminding readers that the window of the Multnomah County GOP headquarters was shattered a few years ago when someone threw a rock through it.
She also reminded readers that cars with Bush bumper stickers were "keyed" in 2004 and a McCain/Palin bumper sticker was stolen off her car in 2008." via Free Republic
