Two stabbings in two days at Occupy San Francisco, March 2012

"Warmer weather has brought back the occupiers and with them fresh criminal behavior. There have been two stabbings at the Occupy SF camp in two nights. The most recent happened Monday night:
A 27-year-old man was hospitalized after an argument led to a stabbing near the Occupy SF encampment in San Francisco's Financial District late Monday night, according to San Francisco police.
This followed a more serious incident Sunday night: [near the Fed.]
The protester was stabbed in the chest about 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Market Street while arguing with another man about the whereabouts of a camera, said police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza. He would not be more specific.
This report in the SF Examiner offers a bit more detail about the suspect in Sunday night's stabbing:
One protester told The San Francisco Examiner the dispute was over a stolen cellphone and purse. "I'm not going to get between a man and his purse," said the protester, who asked not to be named... Witnesses described the suspect as a troublemaker who had been hanging around the protest site for about a week claiming he was the leader.

Given all the mayhem, you might imagine this is a large occupation. Wrong. Huffington Post says there are just 20 people at the camp; KGO saw only eight protesters when they did their report from the scene last night."
