"Corey Donahue, an Occupy Denver protester arrested three times before, was taken into custody Monday after he allegedly threatened to kill a Denver police officer and tried to pull him from a cruiser.

The officer was in a marked police cruiser at a stop light at Broadway and 14th Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. and recognized Donahue, 29, when he ran toward the car screaming insults and threatening to kill the cop. Donahue then plunged his hand through the open driver's window, allegedly hitting the officer in the face while he was holding a black object in his hand that police later said was a cellphone. When the officer pulled forward, Donahue followed, police said, and yelled for the officer to return his phone.

The officer stopped for a red light at Lincoln Street, where Donahue was allegedly joined by Patrick Marsden, 31. The two ran to the cruiser and pounded on the window and door, threatening to kill the officer, police said.

The officer rolled down his window and sprayed both men with pepper spray, causing the two to momentarily step back. The men then allegedly grabbed the officer's arms and tried to pull him out of the car, police said. Fearing he would be pulled out of the car, the officer sped forward and requested emergency backup.

While waiting for backup, the officer reported that he saw others running toward his car. Additional officers arrived, including officers on motorcycles, one of whom tackled Donahue. Donahue continued threatening the officer as he was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody. "It's going to be funny when your families are slaughtered in the street," Donahue reportedly screamed at the officer. Officers later found and arrested Marsden in Civic Center. Donahue faces one charge of assault on a police officer." via Weasel Zippers
