As of 10/11, military ballots have still not been mailed from 5 New York counties including NY City

"More than one week after its extended deadline, New York still hasn’t mailed out absentee ballots to all its 320,000 military servicemen and women and overseas voters, in clear violation of the MOVE Act, FoxNews.com has learned.
  • According to the 2009 MOVE Act, a state must send out its military and overseas ballots 45 days prior to elections.
New York was granted a waiver to this deadline by the Department of Justice and given an additional 15 days -- until October 1 -- to send out all its ballots. On October 5, New York State Board of Elections co-directors informed federal officials that the state
  • had not fully met their extended deadline, according to an e-mail posted online at FVAP.gov, the website of the Defense Department agency tasked with overseeing military voting.
In an e-mail sent October 5, New York State Board of Elections co-directors Robert A. Brehm and Todd Valentine wrote:
  • “County Boards of Elections have reported to our office that UOCAVA ballots have been transmitted to voters within their respective jurisdictions
except in the City of New York, and the following counties: Erie, Niagara, Putnam and Westchester.”
  • And, as of Oct. 9, these ballots still have not been mailed to voters in these counties,
who will now have less than 25 days to receive, mark and return their ballots, federal and state officials told FoxNews.com.
  • New York City alone has about 50,000 servicemen and women and overseas voters.
"The gravity of New York's failure cannot be overstated. With approximately 50,000 military and overseas voters in New York City alone, there is no doubt that the
  • November elections could be altered by this failure,” said Eric Eversole, a former Justice Department voting section attorney who recently started a nonprofit organization, Military Voter Protection Project, to protect military voting rights.
In September, the MVP Project filed a lawsuit against Maryland Board of Elections on behalf of an unnamed serviceman in Iraq who, the suit alleges, will be disenfranchised this election.

“The sad fact is that New York City's failure will have its greatest impact on those military members serving on the front lines," Eversole said. "They do not have the luxury of receiving their ballots via e-mail and must rely on a notoriously slow postal service to receive their ballots. Without immediate action, there is no doubt that
  • some of these troops will be disenfranchised by New York's failure. It is truly shameful."...
E-mail requests for comment sent to the co-directors, other Board of Elections officials and its spokesman were not returned....
  • Go to FVAP.gov for information about military voting, and to learn about online balloting options available for military voters from 31 states."

Another Soros recipient caught lying: Act Blue ashamed to 'disclose' they caved like so many others

'Disclosure' of ACT BLUE, yet another group caught lying about Soros cash, via poster LadyImpactOhio from RedState.com, 10/6/10:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyOHFniwoeNc1YXK1ORwHbzLcVCqhJ0B1jVhig9COiv-lU9JCk6B0Wk78F-r_h2nR0HIMfeAlZ3F_yyHkGyetZcppB3S8n6R6WYTzJ4nuD9wkiYqSpgGJJioeek_sEzbK0L4LVMV5L_yg/s1600/Soros-gives-6900-to-ActBlue-alteredMay112008RedState100610.jpg

"A couple of weeks ago I did a post on ActBlue, the number one on-line fund-raising website for Dems. ActBlue is actually a “conduit” for Dems to fundraise and now has partnered with Kos and according to this tweet raised $1.3 million in one day alone. To date ActBlue has raised over $146 million for Dem candidates.
  • There is a candidate directory where one can find the candidate of your choosing, and supposedly donate directly to that candidate. I want again to be perfectly clear: not every Dem candidate is on this directory, but it is by CHOICE and the candidate MUST sign up on the site to fundraise.

In the post mentioned above I tried to draw a direct link from George Soros to ActBlue, meaning he had donated to them. The Secretary of State Project, of which Soros was one of the founders, gave $7500 to ActBlue in this election cycle. The Secretary of State Project also uses ActBlue to fundraise for them according to their website. My theory at the time was ActBlue, their candidates, and Soros were “in bed” with each other by a “couple degrees of separation” but at the time couldn’t find a direct link.

Using my theory GOP candidate Sean Bielat, running against Barney Frank in MA confronted ActBlue on twitter, using my above post as ammo trying to discredit them.

  • Here are ActBlue’s replies:

Twit link for above is here. And a second tweet to Bielat:

Well ActBlue, you are a bunch of LIARS, because I have now found the smoking gun that links Soros directly to ActBlue, i.e. Soros gave $6,900 to ActBlue on May 11, 2008. UNDISPUTED!! From Campaign Finance records. I’ll even give you a screen shot, ActBlue, [highlighting is mine]:

And that ain’t all, ActBlue!! You guys also used your site to fundraise for a dinner Soros was having in support of Al Franken’s recount vote.

"Please join George Soros and honored guest Vice President Al Gore for a reception and dinner in support of Al Franken"....

Here is the link from Campaign Finance docs showing Soros alone gave $10K toward that dinner. Also on the list is Robert Soros, of Soros Fund Management who gave $5K toward that dinner. If anyone wants to see where else these guys contributed, just click on their name and voila! everything pops up.

  • And on an unrelated note, also of interest on the list is Bruce Ratner, of ACORN/mega-contributor fame. Surprise!

So bottom line is, this is no longer a “theory.” It’s a “reality.” And I am going to assert that every single candidate on ActBlue’s directory list is linked to, and in bed with Soros. And the GOP can and should be checking to see if their opponent is on the list, and if so go after them. Use this as cannon fire, ask them to try and explain this relationship away. And Rich Iott, I hope you read this, because Stupak 11 member Marcy Kaptur is on the list.

  • And to all you Dems who come back bitching, whining, and moaning that you “didn’t know” that is again in my book the “dog ate my homework” excuse. With campaign managers and staff at your beck and call, if a homemaker from Ohio can find out this info in short order, why can’t you??

And to ActBlue: I will be blasting the link to this post all over twitter, Facebook et al. And I’ll also be sending it to all the GOPers I know and the Dems as well. Let’s see you guys explain this away."...

Nevada alleged GOP official endorses Democrat Reid, says Angle didn't fold like a cheap camera, in effect.

"A powerful state Republican has thrown his support behind Democrat Harry Reid in the race for Senate in Nevada, while also leveling some harsh words at GOP candidate Sharron Angle.
Raggio may find a job with Obama as "Republican" Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has done. Then of course "Republican" Judd Gregg took a job with Obama, but backed out when the Census was yanked out of his department (which he originally stated as one of his objections, though later in his 'statesman' face played down that aspect). Raggio can expect praise from the NY Times as a "maverick" such as they have lavished on "Republican" John McCain....ed.

US taxpayers fund warlords pretending to guard our troops in Afghanistan

"Heavy US reliance on private security in Afghanistan has helped to line the pockets of the Taliban, a US Senate report says.

The study by the Senate Armed Services Committee says this is because

The report demands "immediate and aggressive steps" to improve the vetting and oversight process.

$18 million US taxpayer dollars from Obama 'stimulus' went to dead people who are not legally required to return it to chump taxpayers

$18 million in Obama stimulus grants went to people who were dead.
The Social Security Inspector said a little more than half has somehow been returned.

10/7, AP: "But about $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration's inspector general.... But, the report said, there is no provision in the law to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people....The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned."...

Former Obama budget chief says doctors must work weekends, be 'managed' by system, says 'inevitable', industry can no longer 'protect' them

.
Peter Orszag says doctors should "consent to management," it's "inevitable" he says. MD's gave time and money to qualify for an entirely different job in a different country. No reason to hang around for this.
"Peter Orszag, former Obama economist, is suggesting that doctors need to start working evening and weekends. Here’s a taste:

"Doctors, like most people, don’t love to work weekends, and they probably don’t enjoy being evaluated against their peers. But their

Imagine a drugstore open only five days a week, or a television network that didn’t measure its ratings. Improving the quality of health care and reducing its cost will require that doctors make many changes —

  • but working weekends and
  • consenting to quality management are two clear ones.

That’s why an effort at New York University Langone Medical Center to institute both of these changes is so important. If it succeeds, it will help point the way to the

  • health care system of the future.

First, weekends. It’s never good to be hospitalized, but you really don’t want to be hospitalized on a weekend. There are fewer doctors around, and people admitted on Saturdays and Sundays fare relatively poorly.

One study in 2007 found, for example, that for every 1,000 patients suffering heart attacks who were admitted to a hospital on a weekend, there were 9 to 10 more deaths than in a comparable group of patients admitted on a weekday. The weekend patients were less likely to quickly receive the invasive procedures they needed — like coronary artery bypass grafts or cardiac catheterization.

It’s not just a safety issue but, for less life-threatening medical problems,

  • also a matter of convenience.
  • Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to schedule your elective surgery on a Saturday if you wanted? Most hospitals don’t offer that option.

And then there are the economics of a $750 billion-a-year industry

  • letting its capacity sit idle a quarter or more of the time.

If hospitals were in constant use, costs would fall as expensive assets like operating rooms and imaging equipment were used more fully. And if the workflow at existing hospitals was

  • spread more evenly over the entire week, patients could more often enjoy the privacy of single-bed rooms."...

(American Blogger): When I read this, I thought, “I’ve read this somewhere before.”

"GPs will be asked to work in the evening and at weekends after the Government indicated that it is to reopen the contentious issue of out-of-hours care by family doctors, The Times has learnt.

Alan Johnson, the Health Secretary, will tell doctors this week that it is ludicrous that surgeries shut their doors as people leave work and that GPs, whose average salary now tops £100,000,

  • must become more flexible and “customer oriented”.

He will ask Sir Ara Darzi, professor of surgery at Imperial College, London, who was appointed a health minister by Gordon Brown in July, to find a solution as part of his review

(continuing American Blogger): So how exactly has that worked out in Great Britain?

Exactly like you’d think:

"The huge extent to which the NHS needs foreign doctors to treat patients out of hours is revealed today.

A third of primary care trusts are flying in GPs from as far away as Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland because of a shortage of doctors in Britain willing to work in the evenings and at weekends.

The stand-ins earn up to £100 [$162] an hour, and one trust paid Polish and German doctors a total of £267,000 [$434,674] in a year, a Daily Mail investigation has found.

It raises fresh concerns that British patients are being treated by exhausted doctors without a perfect command of English.""

Blue Dog Democrat fakeout of 2010: pretend they're conservative for the home folks, back in the Beltway they vote far left as per Herr Soros

.
10/4: "The Blue Dog Report," by the Club for Growth, Conclusion:

"The Blug Dog Coalition's nearly universal reputation for fiscal conservatism is wholly undeserved. They do not influence policy by voting as a bloc against spending excesses. They routinely betray the PAYGO principles on which their reputations rests.
  • And they do not change the culture of spending in Congress by standing against earmarks.

The Blue Dog Coalition, in reality, is not a vehicle conservative Democrats use to influence policy, but

  • an artificial brand conventional Democrats have created to help market themselves.

This is the true purpose of the Blue Dogs' self-imposed membership limit - the exclusivity confers on each member an

  • unearned aura of independence and fiscal credibility.

Their false reputation aside, Blue Dogs are barely distinguishable from all but the most

  • extreme liberals in the House Democratic Caucus."

Lisa Murkowski warns Alaska broadcasters not to air Tea Party ads against her

.

.
Lisa Murkowski was appointed to a job which some apparently assume they're entitled to for life. She is among those now outraged to find a Senate gig is something to which you're supposed to be elected, not appointed. Other issues exist about why she wasn't re-elected, such as her
One party rule is good for billionaires, crooks, Tom Friedman, and banana republics. It's not good for people.

Per AP, 10/4, Anchorage Tea Party spokesman Eddie Burke said Tea Party Express came to Alaska at the local group's invitation to support candidate Joe Miller.
10/4, AP: "Eddie Burke...spokesman for the nascent Anchorage Tea Party, said his group asked Tea Party Express...to return to Alaska to help defeat Murkowski. He said it did this because the state and country are worth fighting for."...Alaska Republican Senate candidate Joe "Miller entered the Senate race in April because he said he believes the nation is at a crisis point, Washington is out of control, and the federal government is on the brink of bankruptcy....
Attorney Timothy McKeever, in a letter to broadcasters Monday, said they are under a "legal and moral obligation" not to air the new ads from Tea Party Express, which is supporting Joe Miller, the political upstart who defeated Murkowski in the August GOP primary.

A Tea Party Express spokesman said his initial reaction is that the group stands behind the ads."...

Murkowski's father won the seat in 1980, appointed his daughter to it in 2002, she retained it until 2010, so it's been her family's "seat" for 30 years. The father purchased an air plane with Alaska taxpayer funds while he was in office, and used it until the end of his term in spite of citizen disapproval. After Murkowski appointed his daughter to the Senate the state enacted a law
11/3/04, MSNBC.com: "The (Lisa Murkowski) appointment (by her father) was made possible by a change in state law enacted by the Legislature that year. Nepotism was such an issue this year that more than 50,000 voters signed petitions for an initiative on Tuesday’s ballot to require Senate vacancies be filled by special election. The measure was approved."...(3/4 down page)
  • Lisa Murkowski voted for TARP and scored well on what is euphemistically referred to as 'crossing the aisle' (a move defined only by crossing from right to left) or 'being civil,' suggesting those who don't vote the Soros agenda are rabid animals, and can't we all just agree to drink the sweet Soros kool-aid, isn't life better without disagreements? ed.
8/25/10, CNN, (mid page): "To be sure, Murkowski -- who was first appointed to her post by her father in 2002 -- was also hampered by her own record, having voted for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, which many conservatives view as the ultimate example of a government handout.

A Congressional Quarterly analysis suggests Murkowski is the most moderate senator facing re-elections this year, having voted against her party 30 percent of the time on key votes. Another Congressional Quarterly analysis, from 2003 to 2008, suggests Murkowski has

The lady has lived in a state of grace. She was elevated merely by birth supposedly to represent citizens who took the time to vote. It was time for her to go anyway as it is for others who presided over the loss of our country. Those with whom she presided are trying to make the job into something for which it was not intended.

Moth eaten Beltway Republicans whose shelf-life has long since expired showed their continued scorn for voters and for America. They will never get it. ed.
