Beltway elitist and new Heritage hire Steve Moore angrily accuses Tea Party of moving GOP in 'a dangerous anti-science direction' but Steve shows up pretty well as 'anti-science' in google

.
Steve Moore, new hire as chief economist at the Heritage Foundation while remaining an editor and columnist for the Wall St. Journal, was a guest on John Batchelor's radio program Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2014. Batchelor was accompanied by his frequent guest Mary Kissel of the Wall St. Journal editorial page. Mr. Batchelor cited Moore's past connection with the Club for Growth among his bona fides. The bona fides Moore displayed on Batchelor's show were strictly Beltway Ruling Class and Sabotage Republican.
Among Moore's gems:

"The Tea Party wants ideological purity."

"The Tea Party is moving Republican Party in a dangerous anti-science direction."

-------------------
Moore's "dangerous anti-science" outburst came near the end of the segment. I don't recall them chatting about global warming but I missed the opening of the segment so maybe it was discussed then. Otherwise, I'm not sure what he meant.

During the segment Moore, Batchelor and Mary Kissel all laughed about what a joke they think Georgia Republican Paul Broun is on topics like evolution and about Obama enacting Soviet style government. Moore says he just wishes Republicans could run people for office that everyone didn't laugh at.

Per Talking Points Memo, Moore's hiring by Heritage is seen as a plus by the radical left and the Chamber of Commerce. For example, on the topic of what is euphemistically referred to as "immigration," Moore says: "To the extent that Heritage can be instrumental in making sure we're getting the highest quality immigrants, that is really an essential component of our economy."...
.
1/23/2014, "The Heritage Foundation Might Be Shedding Some Of Its Crazy Soon," TPM, Dylan Scott

"The new man is Stephen Moore, most recently of the Wall Street Journal's editorial page, who is joining Heritage as its chief economist. He has previously worked at Heritage in the 1980's, the Cato Institute, and Club for Growth before spending the last nine years at the Journal.

Moore's conservative bonafides are real. But he's also been outspoken on several issues, particularly immigration, where he's directly clashed with the new Heritage status quo....
Outsider observers in the conservative sphere were emphatic: Moore's hiring could be a turning point for Heritage, both in general and particularly on immigration, this Congress's best shot -- however remote -- to leave a meaningful legislative mark.

Alex Nowrasteh, immigration policy analyst at the Cato Institute, the libertarian think tank...  told TPM that Moore's presence "bodes very well for an ideological policy shift" at Heritage. He compared the move to House Speaker John Boehner hiring the top immigration analyst at the Bipartisan Policy Center to his staff in December, which reform advocates also viewed as a potential turning of the tide on the issue.

"It absolutely portends a change over there at the Heritage Foundation," he said....

Moore's hiring also earned the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce....

“I’ve known Steve for a long time. He is a smart guy and Heritage is lucky to have him," Randy Johnson, senior vice president of labor, immigration, and employee benefits at the Chamber, said in a statement to TPM.

Moore himself wasn't ready to declare that his presence would result in a dramatic overhaul of Heritage's position on immigration. "We'll see," he said, when asked if a significant refinement should be expected."...

But Moore also re-emphasized his pro-immigration stance and pledged to work at Heritage to develop a "pro-growth" immigration policy. If that work leads to a change in Heritage's position, Cato's Nowrasteh said the resulting impact would be "titanic."

"What I'm going to try to work with Heritage on is developing a pro-growth immigration solution. I hope to help fashion a pro-immigration position," Moore said. "I've said that I think immigration is so key to our future economy, and to the extent that Heritage can be instrumental in making sure we're getting the highest quality immigrants, that is really an essential component of our economy."...

Moore's stated openness to exploring common ground on immigration is the first sign of light from DeMint's conservative empire, an abrupt turn from the ideological intransigence that had become the norm."

1/28/14, "The State of the Republican Party," Daniel Horowitz, RedState

"The big story for conservatives is not the President’s State of the Union Address. It is the broken state of the Republican Party – the party that is supposed to serve as a bulwark against the poisonous ideas propagated in that speech.

It certainly is egregious that we have a president who is brazenly implementing wage controls without congressional approval.  It is reprehensible that he speaks of inequality while promulgating regulations that throw people off their healthcare and destroy jobs in Appalachia.

But it is even more reprehensible that we have an opposition party that is hell-bent on rubber stamping Obama’s agenda, while engaging in a civil war with the party base that desires a bold contrast."...

2/20/13, "As Country Club Republicans Link Up With The Democratic Ruling Class, Millions Of Voters Are Orphaned," Angelo Codevilla, Forbes, op-ed

They "collude and demand submission as did the royal courts of old."....(subhead 'Public Safety')"

Like Steve Moore, Jeb Bush used the word "dangerous" to describe us. Jeb Bush couldn't even deliver the state of Florida to his own brother in 2000. On 7/29/12 the Palm Beach Post said Jeb Bush warned that we're DANGEROUS and RIGID:

7/29/12, "Editorial: Crowder over West in U.S. House District 18," Palm Beach Post"

"A Republican Party that such luminaries as former Gov. Jeb Bush warn has become dangerously right wing and rigid."...(parag. 5)

Comment: We're not the ones who destroyed the country and handed it to the radical left. It was all done by the GOP Ruling Class which had quietly either disappeared or merged with democrats. In Nov. 2010 we brought them back from the dead but it turns out they preferred being dead. They bitched and complained about the people we gave them and used the House Speakership to get rid of good people we gave them. Jeb Bush epitomizes the death of the two party system. This is a polite way of saying the US has been overthrown. A large country with only one political party is a dictatorship.
