Gallup 3 day Obama approval average

3/16/12, "Poll: Obama job approval rating dives," The Hill, by Jonathan Easley

"
President Obama’s job approval rating has suffered another wild downswing, according to the latest Gallup three-day rolling average.

Forty-four percent said they approved of the job the president is doing, compared to 50 percent who said they disapproved.

That falls outside the average of other recent favorability polls, suggesting that the numbers could be an outlier, or are perhaps indicative of the volatile political landscape.

Gallup’s 6 percent approval deficit is a 12 percent swing from only five days ago, when the same poll found the president’s approval rating to be positive by 6 percent....

The latest rolling average from conservative polling outlet Rasmussen, which was also released on Friday, shows the president at 49 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval.

However, a CBS News-New York Times poll released last week showed the president suffering a steep drop, with 41 percent saying they approve versus 47 percent saying they disapproved, a result that’s similar to Gallup’s latest numbers.

This is the fourth dramatic overnight swing in the Gallup poll in 2012, with three of them coming on the downside.
